If you’re a big-time movie buff and would like an easier way to store all of your favorite movies you might want to check out a company called Kaleidescape. The company has unveiled a new movie server called the Cinema One that is designed to be a set top box with the ability to store up to 100 Blu-ray quality movies. The box can also store up to 600 DVD quality films.
The downside to this device is that it’s incredibly expensive at $3995. Despite how expensive that seems, previous products from the company sold for around $14,000 making this relative bargain. The device has an integrated movie guide that makes it easy to see which movies you have.
The movie server also allows you to play the movie without having to watch anything about coming attractions or mess with menus. The company also has an online movie store where you can buy full digital copies of movies for $7-$22. Users who need additional storage can link a pair of 4 TB Cinema One units for 8 TB of storage.
