Players have been waiting for jetpacks in Fortnite after it was revealed months ago that they would be added to the popular battle royale title. The wait is over, because Epic has now added jetpacks in Fortnite. The developer confirmed in a tweet that the update which brings this much-anticipated addition to the title would roll out yesterday and by now it has.
We first heard about this three months ago through a datamine. That was when we knew that jetpacks would be coming to Fortnite. The datamine suggested that they are linked to a new limited-time mode called Close Encounters, and the game’s news section mentions that jetpacks in Fortnite will only be available for a limited time.
Speculation was that the mode may be related to a combination of jetpacks and shotguns. Epic hasn’t provided any clarification on that yet, though. As of this writing, we don’t know.
Jetpacks will be coming with the v4.2 content update. There will be no server downtime while this update is rolled out, so play on. Fans will be eager to find out exactly what is going on with this new update.
Soon you can strap on that jetpack and blast off to adventure.
