Microsoft made an announcement at its Build developer conference. The company revealed that it has been working with Apple to get iTunes on the Windows Store. Of course you can already install iTunes on Windows.
However, having iTunes on the Windows Store is going to make the entire process a whole lot easier for some users. That is always a good thing.
So now Microsoft has announced that the iTunes desktop app will soon be on the Windows Store. This may not sound like a big deal, but think about the fact that iTunes is one of the most frequently searched apps on the Windows Store and it has never been listed there. The app that will be listed on the Windows Store is going to have full iPhone support. Users will get an experience that’s similar to what they get from the existing iTunes for Windows app.
Since then, Microsoft hasn’t revealed any more details about this agreement that it has reached with Apple, in fact they didn’t even show any screenshots of the upcoming app during the conference. It was a straightforward announcement. We don’t know when iTunes is going to be available for download from the Windows Store yet.
