Everyone loves Star Wars, but what if you are in a remote area where you can’t watch the latest movie? Like the most remote area there is, space. Well, these days even astronauts can catch the latest big event flick.
Space is the best place to watch the latest Star Wars movie anyway and astronauts aboard the International Space Station will be enjoying the movie. NASA has confirmed that they will be watching the much awaited sequel that’s opening in cinemas across the world this week.
It’s not unusual for the crew to watch movies in space. The ISS has a library of more than 500 movies which includes both classics and recent titles. Astronauts can watch movies on their days off just like the rest of us. The ISS astronauts will watch the movie using one of the laptops onboard or the projector. They need some downtime after all.
NASA Public Affairs Officer Dan Huot confirmed that while the astronauts will watch the movie, it’s not clear when they will watch it. “They typically get movies as digital files and can play them back on a laptop or a standard projector that is currently aboard,” he added.
The highly anticipated Star Wars movie opens in cinemas across the globe this weekend.
