Google has made it clear that it doesn’t see the value in spending resources developing for the relatively small user base of Windows Phone and you can’t blame them really. So nobody was expecting an official Gmail app any time soon.
However, some developers have taken it upon themselves to unofficially port the iPhone Gmail app to Windows Phone 8 for any WP8 user who wants it.
It takes most of its design cues from the iPhone Gmail app, as well as most of its features. Reviews are mixed so far, and some users are saying that fetching new messages and push notifications can be slow. But hey, there aren’t a lot of options for Windows Phone users, so you may as well give it a shot.
