The iPhone 5c is a nice medium, between the iPhone 5 and the iPhone 5s. While not as powerful as the iPhone 5s, it is a bit newer than the iPhone 5. It is a good choice for those who don’t the iPhone 5s.
Sadly the device didn’t do as well as Apple expected and Tim Cook had to admit that the low sales were a surprise. They expected better sales. However the news isn’t all bad for the iPhone 5c. There are markets where the iPhone 5c is doing well. One of those markets is the UK.
According to the Kantar Worldpanel’s numbers, prior to the iPhone 6 launch, the iPhone 5c was the best selling smartphone in the UK for the month of August. The phone had a market share of 8.9% and even outpaced the iPhone 5s which was at 7.6%. And would you believe that the iPhone 5c even outsold the Samsung Galaxy S5 which was at a 6% market share? These figures are a slight drop from July.
It only dropped by 1.6% and apparently this was because those who buy the iPhone 5c don’t have to have the latest and most powerful technology, even when new phones are launched. So the iPhone 5c has been doing a little better than we thought.
