If you play games on your smartphone, you know that you can get a bunch of games for what it would cost for one game on a gaming handheld like the 3DS. It is no wonder that according to a newly published study, consumers are spending a lot more on iOS games.
Research firms IDC and App Annie performed a joint study and found that during the first quarter of 2013, the total spending on iOS games outpaced spending on dedicated handheld games. This is the first time iOS alone has beaten dedicated gaming handhelds. Last quarter, the iOS App Store and Google Play store combined sales had beaten dedicated gaming handheld sales.
Also since people always have their phones on them, it’s no wonder they choose to play on that device. I would suggest Nintendo make their next 3DS a phone if they want to compete.
