iOS 13 was released a little while ago and the update is already causing some issues with certain games like PUBG and Fortnite Battle Royale. It looks like gamers are accidentally bringing up the text editing feature during sessions of PUBG and Fortnite.
If you’re unfamiliar, one of the new features introduced to iOS 13 is gestures to bring up text editing. So basically, when users tap and hold on the screen with three fingers, it will bring up a text editor feature. However, as you can imagine this can lead to problems. It has created some conflict with existing games where the feature pops up and users can’t dismiss it. This all results in them losing their games without meaning to. That is the kind of thing that will ruin a gamer’s day.
The developers of PUBG are aware of the problem and in a statement, have advised gamers from updating to iOS 13 until the issue has been resolved. “We are aware of an issue for players who upgraded to iOS 13.0, where touching the screen with 3 fingers will trigger an iOS function and interrupt the game.”
Apple is aware of the issue and are working with the developer to resolve it.
