Instagram has launched a new feature called “Photos of You,” through updates to its iOS and Android apps. The option lets people tag others in their photos similar to Facebook. The photos will eventually appear in a Photos of You profile section.
Interestingly, the tagging also works for corporate brands. Only the person who originally shot an Instagram photo can label the people in it. Instagram will be keeping Photos of You off of profiles until May 16th, which should give users time to change their privacy settings. Make sure you do so if you are inclined.
The Android app has two other new features. Grids will now appear in the camera, scaling, and cropping screens, helping with composition. For users of Android 4.0 or later, the quality of uploaded photos has been improved.
Seems like a pretty nice update.
