Apple revealed its third quarter financials yesterday so we have some sales figures for all of its various hardware. As you might expect the company had record sales of the iPad, which jumped 84 percent year-over-year and 44 percent from the previous quarter to 17 million units sold during Q3. We don’t have any info broken down by iPad model, however.
iPhone sales were also up from last year to 26 million units, a growth of 28 percent. Interestingly this is also a drop from 30 million in Q2. The Mac sales numbers saw a year-over-year growth of only two percent for sales of an even four million during the quarter, compared to growth of seven percent in Q2. That is explained by a dip in desktop sales, which were down 13 percent year-over-year while laptops were up 8 percent.
The iPod line continues to decline as phones and tablets take over, dropping ten percent year-over-year to sales of 6.8 million for the quarter.
