Hulu offers the latest TV shows and other programming and they have 31 million users in the United States. In fact many people use Hulu instead of their cable subscription, allowing them to cancel their cable subscription and save money. Unfortunately that may not be an option for long. It looks like Hulu will become available only to those that have cable or satellite service, according to a new rumor.
This news comes from the New York Post. For now it is a rumor, but it is possible. We aren’t sure if this new requirement for having cable or satellite service would affect Hulu Plus subscribers paying $7.99 a month. And there are as many as 2 million paid subscribers. This would not make people happy.
TechCrunch’s sources say that these talks have been going on since 2009 and that Hulu doesn’t want to be the one to make the first move. It could happen though. We will keep our ears open for you.
