Hulu Plus is doing a great job competing with the likes of Netflix. Last we heard, it had more than nine million paying subscribers, which is a 50 percent growth in subscriber base from the previous year. That’s pretty impressive.
So you would think that Hulu Plus would be around for awhile. Well, it will not be. Not technically. Hulu Plus has been rebranded and it has dropped the “Plus”.
Hulu has decided to just call its premium service Hulu instead of Hulu plus. I guess that makes sense. It keeps things simple. In case you didn’t know, Hulu provides its services under two tiers, there’s a free option and then there’s the premium subscription based option. The former was called Hulu and the latter Hulu Plus.
The “Plus” was the easiest way of differentiating between the two. This might be confusing to some people now, but in time they will get used to it. Now it has brought both services under the single Hulu name. Everything else remains the same with the service. Only the name has changed. It is still the same service that it was before. What do you think? Good move on Hulu’s part? Simple is always best.
