Many people would say that the HTC One is a beautiful Android smartphone. The use of metal gives the phone a nicer look and feel and that is refreshing in a market where for the most part, phones are made from plastic. It’s a nice change of pace. It feels good in your hand.
HTC’s CEO, Peter Chou, who was involved in the design process of the HTC One M8, was constantly making changes and providing feedback to the team and they reportedly created 30-50 prototypes before settling on the final design. So naturally, they are slamming their competition, Samsung, while boasting.
For the Samsung Galaxy S5, Samsung decided to opt for plastic again. The texture back was an interesting touch, but for the most part, the phone is still plastic. The same old same old. In an interview with Business Insider, HTC’s Jason Mackenzie said, “If you want to buy a product built out of cheap plastic, there’s a solution for you,” when asked about Samsung’s flagship smartphone. He later adds, “[HTC is] a company that invests in our customers and delivers a beautifully designed product that you can feel proud of,” He goes on to say, “Samsung is a company that’s focused on investing in advertising.”
Wow. That’s letting them have it. However, the sales figures to come in will tell the real tale as to which users like more.
