In the past, we have had several Metal Gear Solid branded Sony consoles released. Some tweets from Metal Gear Solid producer, Hideo Kojima, have even taken a trip down memory lane to look at them again. He posted several photos of Metal Gear Solid PlayStation products, like the PlayStation 3 and different versions of the PSP that have the Metal Gear Solid branding.
Is Kojima just reliving the glory days? Maybe, but there’s more. In a tweet following these photos, Kojima wrote in Japanese, “After all, I wonder if you want a limited edition?” What did he mean by that statement? Some people are speculating that he could be talking about a possible Metal Gear Solid 5 branded PlayStation 4.
And then there was a follow up message which read, “[SONY] × [PS4] × [MGS GZ] collaboration initiative is in progress. More information at a later date.” Sounds like a confirmation to us. Metal Gear Solid 5 is set for release either later this year or next, with its prologue, Ground Zeroes, releasing on March 18th 2014. We’re not sure what the details are concerning this collaboration/bundle, but when we know, we will share the info.
