Hearthstone is a massively popular game. Recently it was suggested that Blizzard’s Hearthstone was “killing itself” due to the changes in the rules, cards, and increase in price. However it doesn’t look like the game is slowing down at all.
Blizzard has announced that Hearthstone has managed to hit the 70 million player mark. So people are obviously still playing.
Blizzard’s announcement on the Hearthstone blog also revealed that to celebrate this milestone, they will be giving away three free Journey to Un’Goro card packs to players who log into the game. These card packs will also be eligible to new players so you better get yours.
“We’re humbled and grateful that so many players have chosen to join us for some Hearthstone fun. As our way of saying thanks, starting today through the end of May, everyone who logs in will receive three free Journey to Un’Goro card packs. Yup! Everyone! Even new players! Just log in to claim your bonus packs!”
The Journey to Un’Goro is the latest expansion that was released last month. It is the start of a new approach to Hearthstone where Blizzard plans to release three full-sized content blocks a year, as opposed to a mixture of expansions and Adventures. This game is still going strong.
