Here is some good news for Amazon Fire TV users. Even though it’s been around for awhile on almost every other web TV platform, HBO has finally decided that it’s time to launch on Amazon Fire TV. Amazon says that HBO is also working on the HBO GO app for Amazon Fire TV stick as well, so it can be on all Amazon devices.
Peter Larsen, Vice President Amazon Devices says that they were “thrilled” to have HBO GO launching on Fire TV “in time for the holidays.” He also said that HBO Go was “the most requested service” for Amazon Fire TV. So it is good for those users that it is finally launched.
HBO GO is arriving on Amazon Fire TV at a time when it hosts “over 1,700 titles” from HBO’s archive. You’ll have access to all of the HBO series that you love, original films, miniseries, sports, specials, and a bunch of documentaries too. I suspect that most people just want Game of Thrones.
As for the Amazon Fire TV app collection, it is now above 700 apps. That is four times the amount of apps that the platform had at launch, which is not bad at all. The device costs $79 through December 28th, but after that it will go up again. So now is a good time to get on the bandwagon.
