Board games have always been mostly low tech. Usually, you just roll some dice, move your player markers etc. Most board games are still built that way in fact, but it seems that Hasbro is experimenting with more hi-tech board games and has unveiled a voice-controlled version of its Monopoly game.
Called the Monopoly Voice Banking Electronic Family Board Game, as its name suggests, it will come with a gadget that can recognize your voice. So instead of players having to keep track of their cash and their properties, the game will do it for you.
The voice-controlled assistant will be able to track Chance and Community Chest cards as well, which means that the only thing that players need to do is roll their dice and move their pieces. Hopefully, it will be accurate and reliable. Even companies like Apple, Google, and Amazon still have plenty of instances where users have to repeat themselves.
This could be annoying if players need to constantly repeat their requests, but if you are interested, you can pre-order the game at Walmart for $30. So now that Monopoly has gone high tech, maybe they should put out a silicon valley version of the game.
