While Showtime took forever to let out any details for its Halo TV series, but it’s eager to make up for lost time now. Showtime has announced that Natascha McElhone will portray both the Cortana AI as well as Dr. Catherine Halsey, the creator of Spartan supersoldiers like Master Chief. Aside from that, the producers have filled out more of the cast beyond these roles.
You might know McElhone from Californication. The series will also feature Fargo’s Bokeem Woodbine as Soren-066, an ex-military privateer. There’s also famed Indian actress Shabana Azmi who will play Office of Naval Intelligence head Admiral Margaret Parangosky. Other additions are playing the Spartans, these include Avengers: Age of Ultron’s Bentley Kalu, The Witcher’s Natasha Culzac and Catastrophe’s Kate Kennedy.
While fans are eagerly awaiting this show, the series doesn’t go into production until later in the year, and it’s only due to air sometime in the first quarter of 2021. So we have a very long wait ahead of us. These new details seem to indicate that Showtime really is committed to the project, though, and that includes providing star power like those mentioned above. Fans may have a long wait, but it should be worth it.
