Pokemon GO has caused all kinds of problems for gamers as well as those not even playing the game. Sometimes it makes people to walk into places they have no busy entering.
The most recent incident is some serious trouble for a 27-year old French man by the name of Romain Pierre who was arrested after he had accidentally trespassed on an Indonesian military base in Cirebon while he was playing the game.
Instead of staying to explain himself, Pierre decided to make a run for it, but was later caught at a checkpoint. There was no way he was getting away. Luckily for him nothing too serious came of it and he was released a few hours later when it became clear that he had unintentionally entered the complex while hunting for Pokemon.
It could have been more serious had they pressed charges. It seems that nowhere is safe from Pokemon hunters. The game has yet to be officially launched in the country actually, but the governor of Jakarta has expressed his interest in it and said that it could be used to help boost the country’s tourism. Sounds like a great idea. Just secure your high tech military bases.
