Some people will go to great lengths to win a free smartphone. They will do all kinds of crazy things. How far would you go?
A computer company in Kiev promised a free Apple iPhone 7 to the first five people who legally changed their name to iPhone 7. So Ukraine resident Olexander Turin, a 20 year old, officially became iPhone Sim (Seven) and on Friday he picked up his free phone. Now I bet his friends are calling him iPhone 7 all of the time.
In the Ukraine a new Apple iPhone 7 costs $850 USD, so you can see why he jumped at the chance to change his name. Because it costs just $2 USD to have a name changed. Sim’s friends and family were stunned to find out that he had gone through with it.
“It was difficult to accept that and hard to believe it’s true.. Each person in this world is looking for a way to express himself. Why not to do that in this way?”-Tetyana Panina, iPhone Sim’s sister”
Turin plans on switching back to Olexander Turin when he has children. Which is probably for the best. The kids would just be teased all of the time. That wouldn’t be cool.
