You may soon be able to purchase your goods online straight from Google search results. Now wouldn’t that be convenient? If a new report is to be believed, Google is going to add a “Buy” button to results returned by its search engine very soon.
This may be an effort on Google’s part to compete with online retail giants like Amazon. The Wall Street Journal says that the Buy button will be added on search results pages within the next few weeks and that the button is going to be displayed as part of sponsored search results for certain products.
When you click or tap on the Buy button in these sponsored results, you will automatically be taken to that product page, where you can make a purchase. You won’t need to find that product on another website or click through a couple of webpages before you can buy the item.
Apparently Google will just work as a bridge between retailers and the customers in this way. Macy’s is said to be in discussions with the company to take part in the launch. What do you think? Are you interested in buying items this way? Apparently the Buy buttons will remain limited to sponsored results and they will not be displayed next to conventional search results. Also they will at first be limited to mobile and won’t be visible on desktop searches.
