Google has today rolled out a new developer preview of its WebRTC a voice and chat browser and is currently working with Mozilla as well as the IETF and W3C to build a set of open standards with WebRTC at their core. The new Google WebRTC technology is looking to compete with Skype and Apple’s FaceTime application head on.
The open real-time voice and video chat system that uses HTML and JavaScript and has been created by Google to provide an easy way for developers to add video and voice chat to their products. Watch a video of the new WebRTC technology after the jump.
The video below shows how Ericsson is already testing the new WebRTC technology, the first release of WebRTC is mainly targeted at the browser community.
