It was rumored and sure enough, Google Play Music now has a family plan which allows multiple members of a family to share one single plan without each member having to pay for the subscription individually. It makes sense since family plans are already a thing with services like Spotify and Apple Music. Now it is Google’s turn.
Individual subscriptions to Google Play Music cost $9.99 per month right now, if multiple members of a family want to subscribe that adds up quickly. So this is where the new family plan comes in handy. It will save you money.
For only $14.99 per month the Google Play Music family plan allows up to six family members to share the subscription. Each person has their own account, so they can have a unique experience without having to individually pay for the service. This is a really good move by Google. Especially when you consider that Spotify and Rdio plans are charging more.
Google has matched Apple Music’s family plan which also allows six members for a $14.99 per month family plan. Google has announced the new plan, but so far we don’t know exactly when the Google Play Music family plan will go live. It’s Google vs. Apple.
