We already know that Google chose ASUS to produce their upcoming “Nexus tablet.” And we know that the 7-inch tablet could arrive as early as May. Now we have some new information that contradicts earlier reports that said the device would retail for $249-199. It looks like the target price is now $149-199.
Oh, and the quad-core Tegra 3 processor is out. Aside from the 7-inch display, we don’t know anything about the specs. This info comes from an anonymous senior employee at a supply chain company based in the United States. The thinking is that they wanted to really stick it to the Kindle fire and this price point would certainly do that.
It’s possible that we might even see a Snapdragon processor inside this “Nexus tablet”, whatever it’s final name might be. When we hear more news we will let you know.
