Google Glass never came in 2013 much to the disappointment of those who wanted to get a pair. The price will be the key as to whether it is a success or not. According to Robert Scoble, his sources say that Google will not be able to go below the $500 price. If you were hoping to get it cheaper, sorry.
A retail price of $600 is more likely. $600 may be a bit too steep for most people. Then again, look at what people are willing to pay for iPads. There has also been some negativity surrounding Glass and some pre-emptive bans on using the wearable device, so that is a factor as well. Scoble shared his Google Glass with 500 to 1000 curious people and says that Glass has mostly had a hugely positive feedback.
I guess we will find out in time how well it sells if that is indeed the price point for 2014. Would you buy it at that price? Or wait for awhile for the price to drop? Is it doomed to fail? Or destined to succeed? We will find out soon. It could go either way.
