Back in August 2011, Google Catalogs was launched giving iOS and Android users a place to keep digital catalogs. You know, like the Sears catalog of old. This allowed you to access a number of catalogs easily on your smartphone or your tablet.
Now Google has announced that it is closing Google Catalog on August 15th. The digital catalogs will remain available to be viewed from a desktop browser at google.com/catalogs if you really need a fix.
This is obviously an app that didn’t have much interest. We still get plenty of junk mail in our mailboxes after all. It’s too bad this app didn’t help ease the backs of our mail carriers.
