According to a recent report Google is close to signing a deal to purchase facial recognition firm Viewdale, as well as facial recognition technology the company also produces augmented reality technology.
Viewdle is a Ukrainian company that makes software that tags faces in photos as well as augmented reality software, and if the deal goes through Google could use the software for a number of things.
One of those could be Google’s Android platform, another could be Google’s Project Glass, and it looks like the deal has been worked on for around a year so it could possibly go through soon.
