Alienware is a popular brand of gaming laptops and they tend to be big and bulky, as well as heavy. So many prefer the Razer Blade, Razer’s gaming laptop, which is both thin and pretty light. Well, now Gigabyte strikes back, having recently unveiled their new Aorus X3 lineup at Computex 2014.
Gigabyte is claiming that the Aorus X3 will be the world’s most powerful and lightest gaming laptop of its class, and it looks like those claims are true.
It weighs 4.12 pounds, so it is just a bit lighter than the Razer Blade’s 4.47 pounds. The Aorus X3 will also come in two different screen sizes: 13.3-inches with a resolution of 2560×1440, or 13.9-inches with a resolution of 3200×1800. It will be powered by Intel’s Core i7-4710HQ clocked between 2.5-3.5GHz. As for RAM, there will be 8GB of RAM with an extra slot to upgrade an additional 8GB. The GPU is an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 870M with 6GB of GDDR5 memory. It also comes with a pair of SSDs, dedicated macro keys, WiFi, and a 74Wh battery.
As with any gaming laptop, these laptops are not cheap. They will be available in Q3 starting at $2,099. The weight alone should make it worth it.
