Every new Fortnite season gives us fresh skins, crazy emotes, new weapons and a different world to explore. It’s exciting. But when Season X kicked off last week some didn’t like it, even though Epic Games brought back some well-loved locations. They also introduced the B.R.U.T.E. mech.
Since they’ve been in the battle royale shooter, they are making gamers frustrated and angry. The mechs are designed for up to two players. One is the driver, using dash, stomp and jump abilities while the other controls the weapons. Solo players need to manually switch positions when using it. But these mechs are very overpowered. They can reduce people from 200 hit points to zero in one second.
You can see why players are hating them. A B.R.U.T.E. has 1,000 health which is roughly five times the maximum health and shield of regular players — it also has incredible movement abilities, which can close gaps of hundreds of in-game meters in a few seconds. That’s just crazy.
The first Season X Content Update just arrived and was expected to address the issue, but the patch notes don’t mention the B.R.U.T.E. at all. All they have to do is reduce the damage they deal. Epic could also lower the mech’s health and reduce its ability to travel across the map so quickly. Easy stuff.
