The holiday season is pretty much here and that means parents with their kid’s shopping lists. That’s why GameStop is looking to steal some business from traditional toy stores with new “GameStop Kids” holiday stores across the U.S.
GameStop announced on Friday that it plans to open 80 GameStop Kids stores in certain U.S. malls. The idea is to deliver brands that children resonate with. The first GameStop Kids store will open on November 15th and will include brands like Rovio’s Angry Birds, Activision’s Skylanders and Telltale Games’ LEGO: Lord of the Rings, Star Wars and Harry Potter games.
The stores will be temporary, but if they do well, they may hang around longer. This will probably take some business away from Toys R Us for sure.
