Those of you who have rented videos or games from Redbox or Blockbuster may like GameStop’s new PowerPass. PowerPass is a rental service that the video game retailer is launching for used titles and if you are interested, sign ups will begin on November 19th.The program will cost you $60 for six months.
If you sign up, you can visit your local GameStop to get a different game at any time you want, but you can only have one title out at a time, which is reasonable. Basically it is a great way for gamers to play games on a budget. And here’s a great bonus. At the end of the six months, you can choose one game to keep for no extra cost. You’ll have to be a free or paid member of GameStop’s Power-Up Rewards program to sign up for this new rental program though.
This is a great way for GameStop to monetize its huge stock of used games as you can imagine, but it should also help them to get more people into the store. PowerPass should be a hit among gamers who are looking to try their games out before buying them. And you can try as many as you want.
