GameStop has a new promotion that lets customers return a game for full store credit as long as they do so within 48 hours of purchasing it. This is an interesting proposition for gamers as many would love to binge-play a title to complete it before the 48 hours are up so that they can return it for full store credit and repeat the process all over again. That really can’t be good for GameStop.
GameStop is calling the program “Guarantee to Love It”. It will be launched next week alongside of Days Gone. The promotion window will apply for the first week of a game’s arrival only and the retailer will specify which games are eligible for this promotion.
Days Gone is going to be released on April 26th and customers will be able to claim a full refund in store credit if they get it between April 25-28th. They can also trade the open item back for the store credit without any deductions.
The retailer hasn’t confirmed what other titles might be added to this program. I wonder how this will affect Days Gone sales since they can play it for so long and return it for a full refund.
