People can get addicted to anything. Hoarding, gambling, even playing video games. In China, people have been known to sell their own organ parts to pay for goods even, to further their addiction in this case. And the Chinese government and the media are blaming video games.
A man from Gangsu province named Zhang wanted to raise some cash, and reached out to an organ dealer and offered to sell his kidney. He sold his kidney for just $6,510. The market price was $47,000. The reason was that Zhang was desperate to pay off some debts he had incurred while playing games.
I guess he was desperate. His debts come from gaming, supposedly, so there must have been some gambling involved too. Hopefully we can stop blaming games and start looking at the actual people who did this to themselves.
