Great news Fortnite addicts, Fortnite’s In-Game Tournaments are now live. They were introduced with the release of v6.10 and can be found in the new “Events” section of Fortnite Battle Royale. These tournaments have been opened to everyone so we can all compete directly alongside pros for prizes and bragging rights. You will have to opt-in for crossplay to participate in the events though.
Every tournament will have scheduled dates and times and all players will begin with the same score in every tournament and compete over hours of intense competition to earn as many points as possible. Points can be earned by achieving high placements or eliminating multiple opponents. This adds a great new element to the already popular game.
Players will be paired with others that have similar point standings through matchmaking. If you are playing within the session you will be matched with stronger opponents. Everyone is equal regardless of their platforms so we will find out who is the best. Epic looked at the performance of controller players against mouse and keyboard players and found that controller players can be successful while competing against some of the best Fortnite players on PC.
This should make the game even more fun and competitive.
