Fortnite arrived on Android a few weeks ago. It’s only available in beta though. The beta is limited to Samsung devices and those with non-Samsung devices that have received an invite to test it out. Since the Android port is still in development, we have learned that the latest patch brings a new feature: voice chat.
The Fortnite mobile beta v5.40 patch just rolled out that brings the voice chat feature to players on Android. With this new feature, players will be able to voice chat with other players as they play on their Android devices.
Another thing that comes with this patch is the new capture-the-flag mode called Getaway. It will be available to players for only a limited time. This mode is all about teamwork and players will gain new rewards as they complete the various challenges. Should be very fun.
The new grappler gun is also here. It latches on to anything that it’s shot at so it can be used to move quickly by pulling yourself toward whatever you shot at. The full patch notes for Fortnite mobile beta v5.40 are now available on Epic Games’ website if you want to take a look. We don’t know when this title will be released for all Android users.
