Fortnite Competitive Mode May Be In Development

Fortnite could be getting a competitive mode if a new report is correct. The report claims that Epic Games is developing a competitive mode for the game. This news was discovered after data miners dug deep into the new Fortnite updates trying to reveal unannounced skins, features, and additional content. They think that a competitive mode is coming soon.

The game files for Fortnite have folders for each game mode. They also contain folders for limited time modes like the one with Thanos from Avengers: Infinity War. When you apply the latest patch, a new folder is there which is named Comp which could be short for Competitive.

Sure, maybe this is a stretch, but since this folder has been found where the folders for all game modes are, it hints at the possibility of this title getting its first competitive mode. It would only make sense to cater to those who don’t like Battle Royale.

The new folder only has a solo variant and this could mean that Epic Games might only release a competitive solo first before expanding it to duos and squads. Epic Games hasn’t confirmed anything yet, so we will have to see what happens in the future.
