You can already get a solid-state drive with 2TB or more of storage. You just need to buy a large PCI Express card. However, Foremay is making this capacity more portable. It claims that its TC166 and SC199 drives are the first drives to cram 2TB of flash memory into a 2.5-inch SATA enclosure.
The 9.5mm thickness will let them fit into many laptop hard drive bays and other machinery. We don’t have many details so far. We don’t know what the performance is, or how much they cost.
Foremay’s new SSDs are already in mass production, so it shouldn’t be long until we have that info.
