Yahoo’s Weather app already uses Flickr images as its background, which will make opening the app over and over again a real joy. If you want that kind of thing in your browser and are using google’s Chrome browser, Yahoo just launched a cool extension that lets you display lovely Flickr images in new tabs as a background image.
Just like with the weather app, this makes opening a new tab a truly beautiful thing. It is called Flickr Tab and even though the extension does only one thing, it does it beautifully and adds some color and eye candy into your life. We could all use that.
You can download it for Chrome, open a new tab and you’re done. You will get new Flickr photos every time you open up a tab. They only select the highest resolution images from various artists around the globe, so it’s always going to be good.
According to Flickr, the extension uses a specially designed algorithm to deliver the best pictures possible. And if you like the images you see, you can click on it to be taken directly to Flickr to check it out further. This extension should bring a smile to your face while browsing.
