Last week a mysterious website launched called The Survivor 2299. Speculated was that this was a teaser website for an upcoming Fallout 4 announcement. Then a recent Fallout 4 trademark registration in Europe confirmed it. The website has even been updated with an audio clip that plays morse code. The code has since been decoded by some folks at Reddit.
The code is “CQ CQ DE OZ PSE AS”. This apparently translates to, “Calling any station, calling any station, calling any station, this is/from Oscar Zulu Please Stand by”. It does seem very vague, but it’s enough to whet our appetite since Fallout fans will know that Oscar Zulu is a radio station in an unmarked quest from Fallout 3.
That’s about all we have at the moment, though it has been speculated that the website along with the domain name could be fake and registered by someone in order to pull off a hoax. Seems like a lot of trouble to go through for a hoax though. It is expected that the game will be announced in early December. When we learn more we will pass it on as always. We can’t wait for a new Fallout game. They are always fun.
