This is the best story ever. Firstly, because it shows people how electronic voting machines are total garbage and secondly, because Bender from Futurama got elected to a school board.
In case you didn’t know, voting machines get hacked all the time. The makers of these machines as well as certain powers that be keep pushing for more widespread use, despite the fraud. This little experiment in Washington D.C. puts it all in perspective. If you allow electronic voting machines to be used after this, you deserve the elected officials that you get.
This experiment ended with Bender Bending Rodriguez being elected as the head of the Washington D.C. school board. The election board invited people to try and break into the system as a test of its security. A team from University of Michigan hacked in and it was all too easy. The password and logon were both “admin” for Gods sake.
