Uh-Oh. Looks like there is some drama going down over Plants Vs. Zombies 2. The title was released for iOS devices back in August and is expected to make its way onto Android but we haven’t had a date. And now according to Frank Gibeau, the head of EA Labels, Apple allegedly paid the company to hold off on releasing the Android version of the game.
This news comes from some sources at Giant Bomb. Gibeau was quoted as saying that Apple gave them a “truckload” of money to delay the release of the Android version of the game. How much cash that equals is unclear. We also don’t know how long of a delay there was supposed to be.
Apple denies paying EA off. Of course! Take it with a grain of salt for now, but I would like to get some more details. Maybe it was a marketing agreement that got misinterpreted?
