Star Wars Battlefront has been released in the US and it is not even a week old. The game’s publisher EA already has all kinds of plans for its future. It looks like gamers can look forward to multiple sequels to this game. This was confirmed during the UBS Global Technology Conference in San Francisco by EA’s CFO Blake Jorgensen.
Jorgensen, EA and Disney have a 10-year licensing deal and EA wants to milk it for all it is worth. The company already has multiple sequels for the game planned. They won’t be limited to Battlefront’s style though as EA will explore other genres and styles. So we can look forward to many new Star Wars games in the near future.
They are also toying with the possibility of launching multiple platforms too, like mobile instead of just PC and console releases. Jorgensen says, “The beauty of the Star Wars franchise is it’s almost unlimited in what you can do with it. We know Disney has done a great job with other franchises and we believe they’ll do the same with Star Wars over time in delivering new worlds, new characters, new vehicles, all the things that make great video games.”
It is a great time to be a Star Wars fan.
