The Nintendo Wii U is fighting a losing battle. Especially since the Xbox One and the Sony PS4 came on the scene. Developers play an important role in making sure that any console has a steady stream of games that are worth playing, of course, and EA (Electronic Arts) intends to stop publishing more titles for the Nintendo Wii, after rolling out Mass Effect 3, Madden NFL 13, FIFA 13, and Need for Speed Most Wanted on it.
An anonymous source claims that, “Nintendo was dead to us very quickly … It became a kids IP platform and we don’t really make games for kids. That was pretty true across the other labels too. Even the Mass Effect title on Wii U, which was a solid effort, could never do big business, and EA, like Activision, is only focused on games that can be big franchises”.
Does this mean that EA and Nintendo are completely finished? Well, there are only five games for the 3DS without any plans to release any future games on either system. This is yet another huge blow to Nintendo. I think they might end up releasing another console to correct this mess.
