Nintendo is no stranger to limited edition consoles. Especially when it comes to the 3DS. It’s a great way for the company to release new model after new model, getting collectors or fans of specific games. Sometimes these limited editions are very unique, special rewards. Now Nintendo has created one of the rarest 3DS XL handhelds to date, given out as a prize for a Pokémon X and Y tournament.
It is called the Dragon King 3DS XL, and the handheld gets its name for being a prize handed out to the winner of the Pokémon Dragon King tournament. The tournament is held in Japan, and only allows grade school age children to enter. That means some kid will own this and you never will. Entrants have to battle in both Pokémon X and Y, as well as the trading card game. All entrants all have a Dragon-type Pokémon in their party.
There are only two in existence. One is given out to the winner of the card bracket, while the other is rewarded to the winner of the game bracket. The winners names are printed on the back. The graphic on the front is a Mega evolution of Charizard. It is the rarest 3DS ever. Sadly, you will never own this.
