Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze was delayed earlier this year, but if you have been looking forward to getting in on some Donkey Kong Country action, we have some good news. Nintendo has announced Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze will release on February 21 in stores and on the Nintendo eShop.
While announcing Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze’s release date, Nintendo also announced that one of the series’ most popular characters, Cranky Kong, will be playable in the upcoming title. Cranky Kong will be a secondary character, similar to how Diddy or Dixie will play in the game. You can fully control Cranky Kong when playing the game in co-op mode, and you’ll be surprised to find out that he is way more agile than he looks.
Cranky Kong will use his cane to bounce on dangerous objects like spikes, and this ability will also help him access certain areas other characters can’t get to. Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze will be one of the first actual heavy duty game that Nintendo publishes on the Nintendo Wii U in 2014. It could only help sales of the Wii U, which needs all the help it can get.
