Dolby of course was a big player in the 3D revolution in movie theaters and now they are teaming up with Philips to revolutionize some smaller screens. Like your TVs, tablets, laptops and phones. The team has created a new format and content delivery technology that they are calling Dolby 3D.
It will bring high definition 3D content to all devices with 3D displays, even the ones that don’t use glasses. It will automatically optimize video for different screen sizes and upgrade half-resolution 3D to full-resolution. This is what 3D fans have been waiting for.
The goal is to provide broadcasters as well as OEMs with a way to deliver 3D HD content to customers buying Dolby 3D devices, while still being compatible with your existing 3D gadgets. That’s obviously the best approach and 3D fans are sure to appreciate it when it all falls into place.
