When you buy a Nintendo Switch, it will come with the console itself, a pair of Joy-Cons, a grip for the Joy-Cons, and a dock that lets you connect the Switch to a TV and also charge it. However, that will change soon because recently Nintendo announced a new Switch bundle that does away with the dock and is also priced cheaper.
However, it seems that if you were hoping to get your hands on this cheaper bundle and you’re not in Japan, you are out of luck. This comes from a report from USgamer where Nintendo confirmed that they currently do not have plans to bring this particular model to the US.
This is too bad because the difference in price is pretty substantial. In Japan the regular Nintendo Switch is around $295, while the dockless bundle is $246. So that it is almost a difference of $50. That’s nothing to sneeze at. It’s quite a savings. For now, at least, the recently announced bundle will not be sold in the US.
If you really wanted one, you could always import one from Japan. As long as you have a power adapter or a USB-C cable and charger, you should be good to go.
