Yesterday word on the street was that Diablo 3 for the PlayStation 4 would not support Remote Play. The news came from none other than Matthew Berger, the game’s senior level designer. He had said that this was due to the PS Vita’s smaller screen. And you can see his point. It would be easy to miss a lot of detail on that screen size. And what about things like aspect ratio? Berger seemed to indicate that Remote Play was a no go, however he appears to have changed his mind.
In a statement Berger made to GameSpot, he was quoted as saying, “As long as PS4 supports Remote Play, Reaper of Souls will support it.” So…Does this mean that Remote Play will be available for Diablo 3 right out of the box? Or maybe it just means that it is coming soon and they are working on it. Either way, it indicates that Remote Play is coming for the game at some point down the road.
This is good news for PS Vita owners who want to purchase Diablo 3 for their shiny new PlayStation 4 console. I imagine there are many gamers who fall into that category. It is an amazing game.
