We know that Blizzard is working on a HD remaster of StarCraft, and now it looks like Blizzard could be doing the same thing with some of their older titles, like Diablo 2 and Warcraft 3.
This is according to a couple of job listings at Blizzard that hinted at these plans.
According to one of the job listings, “Qualities that made StarCraft, Warcraft III, and Diablo II the titans of their day. Evolving operating systems, hardware, and online services have made them more difficult to be experienced by their loyal followers or reaching a new generation. We’re restoring them to glory, and we need your engineering talents, your passion, and your ability to get tough jobs done.”
The other listing says, “Classic Games is looking for a renaissance designer to harmonize that which was, with that which will be. Warcraft, StarCraft, and Diablo await your machinations. If you have the desire to rise to that challenge, we’d love to hear from you.” It certainly sounds like this is what is happening
.
Since Blizzard is working on a StarCraft remaster, this might make sense that they would remaster older titles as well. Maybe we will hear something at BlizzCon 2017 which will be held in November of this year.
