Bungie promised two Destiny 2 expansions in the game’s first year, and we now know when the second one will arrive. Warmind will arrive on May 8th, with more details coming in a Twitch stream on April 24th.
We don’t have any other details about the DLC, but it’s clearly going to focus on the interplanetary AI systems that humanity counted on for defense way back when. The expansion should be free if you paid for the Expansion Pass, but will likely be available for a fee if you don’t care for Curse of Osiris.
The company is also hinting at some of the other things that are coming to all players. For instance, all the Warmind Crucible maps will be available for matchmaking whether or not you have the expansion. Other good news is that competitive multiplayer won’t be as fragmented as it was before. There will also be some tweaks in the summer, like PC clan chat, bounties, and a new seasonal event.
September will see the return of weapon randomization, records, and gear collections. Since player interest has dropped, they are really counting on these expansions and tweaks will get people excited again. More content should help. I guess we will see.
